I really need to know how this ends...
So you know what you have to do, right." Corrival stared into Valkyrie's heavily mascaraed eyes, and at that moment, all see could think was how she had never noticed that his eyes were the lightest shade of blue she had ever seen.
Before she had time to answer, Skulduggery cut in, "I'm still not happy about this, she's just a child."
"Hey! This is, and always has been my choice. I'm tired of being the kid that everyone has to protect. I'm 17 Skulduggery, you have to get over the fact that I can look after myself." The matter of fact tone in her voice took the two men aback. And for the first time, they saw her as the woman she was, and not a little kid.
At that exact moment, Ghastly shouted through the curtain and told them to get a move on, or the plan would crumble to a pile of dust. Taking one last glance in the mirror, Valkyrie swept out of the tent, Skulduggery and Corrival tagging behind like obedient dogs. As the small group made their way towards the gates, where they were to leave, every persons head swivelled and stared at them, eyes bulging.
When they reached the gate, where the rest of the Dead Men plus Tanith were waiting, all conversation stopped. Eyes roamed around Valkyrie's outfit. Fish net tights, 5 inch black stilettos, pleated black mini skirt and a black and pink lace corset.
"Wow..." Dexter's voice failed to break anyone's gaze. Valkyrie was surprised some of the men hadn't started to drool. A dazzling smile spread across her make up smothered face, as she caught Tanith's eye. Before they could stop themselves, they were in laughing fits, and receiving strange looks from everyone else who was stood around them. The two girls managed to calm themselves down without bursting into laughter again.
"Are you two finished?" Anton Shudder asked.
"Perfectly content," Valkyrie replied, while she made sure her curled hair was in immaculate condition.
"Good, because if you don't leave in the next 5 minutes you will be too late."
"Don't worry, it will go fine," her optimism wasn't shared by the others,"you worry too much, calm down. I go in, grab his attention, get him to follow me outside, you grab him. What could go wrong?"
"Well, seeing you, I'm thinking a lot," Ghastly pointed out.
